Learner Driver Mentor Program

Did you know that 93% of our 16-24 year old clients DO NOT have a drivers licence? That's 4,200 young lives struggling to find work.

Not having a driver’s licence is a major barrier to gaining employment. Whether it be a lack of access to a registered vehicle or a suitably licenced driving supervisor, these disadvantaged young people in OUR community need support.

Support to help them gain the required number of supervised driving hours so they can progress to their provisional licence. Support to help them gain the confidence, knowledge and skills to become safe drivers for life.

Seems simple doesn’t it?

Whilst simple on the surface, the Learner Driver Mentoring Program can have a profound effect on participants. It is holistic in nature, helping to create a sense of connection, self-worth and belief in the future. What starts out as driver mentoring becomes much, much more than just driving a car – it is about people connecting with their humanity, seeing the person behind the stereotype and believing that change is indeed possible.

If you have a couple of hours to spare each week and are interested in finding out more about being a learner driver mentor, please call Richelle or Amanda on 6764 6666 or email ldmp@joblinkplus.com.au

We will be holding a number of Information Sessions in the coming months for interested members of the public to attend and find out more info.
